Canine Campus

Welcome to the City of Canandaigua's Canandaigua Canine Campus page!

Canandaigua Canine Campus (CCC) is a city-owned and managed membership dog park located at 97 Buffalo Street. Registration is required to access the park. The dog park was constructed in 2018 with additional funding support from Friends of Canandaigua Canine Campus (a dog owners' group) and the Town of Canandaigua.

The approximately two acre off-leash park is a safe and friendly fenced space for healthy, trained, licensed and socialized dogs and their owners to gather. CCC features secure access gates, separate fenced play yards for small and large dogs, water stations, benches, parking area and a pet memorial rock garden, the centerpiece of an outdoor lobby. Keep in mind that the dog park is sited near residences: please use the park only during posted hours, keep voices down, use civil language and curtail excessive barking. Let's be good neighbors!

Register

To register your dog, you must visit the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, 2 North Main Street, Canandaigua, Monday through Friday, 9 am-4 pm. Links for downloads to read and fill out prior to your arrival include Dog Park Permit/Acknowledgement of Risk, Release of Liability and Terms of Agreement, Dog Park Rules, Membership: Code of Behavior and the handout "Successfully Navigating an Off-Leash Dog Park."

When registering, bring the filled out Park Permit/Risk Agreement, your photo ID, current dog license and rabies documentation (either a certificate or your vet's health record). The date of rabies expiration must not expire within a 60 day period of registration. We accept cash or a check payable to the City of Canandaigua only.

Registration for 2023 is now available! A completed registration form is required each year for new members and renewals. Membership fees are annual, not pro-rated, and run in the calendar year from January 1st-December 31st. Prices for residents, non-residents plus senior and military discounts are noted on the Park Permit. Fees underwrite operating costs including key cards and collar tags. New cards and tags are issued each year upon registration. Key cards from the previous year are de-activated and collar tag color changes annually.

Once you register, you will receive a key card to enter the park, collar tag, a copy of your signed Park Permit/Risk Agreement. Your dog(s) must wear the collar tag at the park as it is a visual cue to other users that your dog is registered. We suggest you keep your permit paperwork in your car or with you when you visit CCC.

Please be aware that owners who break park rules can have their membership revoked (see Membership: Code of Behavior).
