The City's Code Enforcement Office is responsible for issuing building permits for all new construction and renovations

Fire Department
Canandaigua Fire Department is an "All Hazards" department and remains a leader in the delivery of high-quality fire and emergency services.

Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department provides numerous inclusive recreational activities and events; maintains all city parks, cemeteries and grounds; and maintains all trees on city property and right-of-ways, including those between sidewalks and the street curb.

Personnel
The Personnel Office provides a variety of personnel, human resource and civil service coordination services: benefits management for City employees; Human Resources and personnel services, ongoing staff development and training and advertisement of job openings.

Planning & Zoning
The Director of Development and Planning serves as the City Zoning Officer and, as such, provides staff support to the City Zoning Board of Appeals and works with the City Planning Commission to regulate land development through the City Subdivision Regulations, and through site plan reviews.
