Home Energy & Improvement Program - PathStone

PathStone and the City of Canandaigua are partnering to help homeowners in the City of Canandaigua to make repairs and energy improvements on their homes. The program can to help owner-occupied homeowners within city limits receive free or reduced-cost home energy assessments, obtain grants of up to $10,000 on eligible energy saving improvements, and access low-interest financing.

There are matching grants available from the City of Canandaigua and NYSERDA to make repairs to plumbing, electrical, and small structural problems as well as install high efficiency furnaces, insulation, and air sealing.

Homeownership & Home Preservation Program - Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity (Habitat) and the City has partnered over the last several years to assist homeowners with exterior home repairs and improvements so that they can continue to live in safe, decent homes for years to come. Eligible repairs include porches, steps and railings, painting, safety and code violations, trimming shrubs and landscapes and other repairs as approved. The program requires that the home is owner occupied and within the City of Canandaigua. Homeowners must be willing to contribute sweat equity hours in accordance with their ability and the size of the project. Habitat's construction team provides project management and volunteers to complete the repairs.
